Din nefericire, nu se poate afirma \u00eenc\u0103 acela\u0219i lucru referitor la riscurile oculare care, de\u0219i grave, sunt cunoscute doar de un procent foarte mic popula\u021bional.
Aceast\u0103 prezentare \u00ee\u0219i propune s\u0103 aduc\u0103 \u00een aten\u021bie riscurile interac\u021biunii acute \u0219i cumulative a radia\u021biilor UV cu diverse structuri ale globului ocular \u0219i anexelor sale. Vor fi analizate succesiv implica\u021biile UV \u00een inducerea de neoplazii palpebrale (carcinomul bazo \u0219i spinocelular), diverse patologii conjunctivale (pterigionul, pinguecula, carcinomul scuamocelular), corneene (fotokeratita, keratopatia climatic\u0103), cristaliniene (tulbur\u0103ri de transparen\u021b\u0103 cristalinian\u0103, cataract\u0103) \u0219i retiniene (maculopatia solar\u0103). Nu \u00een ultimul r\u00e2nd, va fi evaluat\u0103 rela\u021bia controversat\u0103 dintre radia\u021biile UV \u0219i degenerescen\u021ba macular\u0103 legat\u0103 de v\u00e2rst\u0103 \u0219i melanomul malign uveal.

Br\u0103ni\u015fteanu, Anisia Iuliana Alexa<\/span><\/p>\nThe risks of skin exposure to ultraviolet radiation (UVR), including the skin melanoma association, are well-known in the general population already proactive in protection while using different sunscreen lotions. Unfortunately, a similar level of understanding has not been reached yet concerning the UVR eye exposure, and only a few realize the severity of ocular risks.
This presentation is intending to bring into focus the risks of acute and cumulative UVR interaction with different ocular structures more likely to be involved. Starting with eyelid malignancies (basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma), the presentation will continue with different associated conjunctival pathologies (pterygium, pinguecula and squamous cell carcinoma), corneal pathologies (photokeratitis and climatic droplet keratopathy), lens pathologies (opacities and cataract) and solar retinopathy. The controversial association between UVR and age related macular degeneration and uveal melanoma is also discussed.
The take home message is that UVR exposure requires an appropriate ocular protection as ocular UVR-induced pathologies are true and harmful.<\/p>\n

Untreated chronic venous disease can have a progressive evolution with a significant impact on patients quality of life.
The risk factors of venous disease together with the tensional stress, determine the morphological and functional alteration of the endothelial glycocalyx and of the endothelium, thus contributing to the development of venous disease.
Treatment with glycosaminoglycans (eg Vessel Due F, considered a natural precursor of glycocalyx, a composite glycosaminoglycan 80% heparan sulfate and 20% dermatan sulfate) can restore and maintain the integrity of the endothelial glycocalyx.
Diabetes is a condition that can frequently lead to microvascular complications, such as diabetic foot, diabetic retinopathy and diabetic nephropathy (chronic kidney disease), due to chemical and metabolic stress caused by high blood sugar levels associated with increased tissue resistance to insulin.
In the case of a patient with diabetic retinopathy, the therapeutic measures must primarily aim at eliminating \/ reducing the risk factors, limiting the evolution of the vascular lesions, improving the hemodynamics and restoring the structure of the vascular wall.

The risk factors of venous disease together with the tensional stress, determine the morphological and functional alteration of the endothelial glycocalyx and of the endothelium, thus contributing to the development of venous disease.
Treatment with glycosaminoglycans (eg Vessel Due F, considered a natural precursor of glycocalyx, a composite glycosaminoglycan 80% heparan sulfate and 20% dermatan sulfate) can restore and maintain the integrity of the endothelial glycocalyx.
Diabetes is a condition that can frequently lead to microvascular complications, such as diabetic foot, diabetic retinopathy and diabetic nephropathy (chronic kidney disease), due to chemical and metabolic stress caused by high blood sugar levels associated with increased tissue resistance to insulin.
In the case of a patient with diabetic retinopathy, the therapeutic measures must primarily aim at eliminating \/ reducing the risk factors, limiting the evolution of the vascular lesions, improving the hemodynamics and restoring the structure of the vascular wall.

Riscurile expunerii pielii la radia\u021biile ultraviolete (UV) sunt deja bine cunoscute de c\u0103tre majoritatea popula\u021biei generale, care con\u0219tientizeaz\u0103 asocierea cu melanomul cutanat \u0219i se dovede\u0219te proactiv\u0103 \u00een a se proteja corespunz\u0103tor prin utilizarea sistematic\u0103 a diverselor creme cu protec\u021bie solar\u0103. Din nefericire, nu se poate afirma \u00eenc\u0103 acela\u0219i lucru referitor la riscurile oculare care, de\u0219i grave, sunt cunoscute doar de un procent foarte mic popula\u021bional.
Aceast\u0103 prezentare \u00ee\u0219i propune s\u0103 aduc\u0103 \u00een aten\u021bie riscurile interac\u021biunii acute \u0219i cumulative a radia\u021biilor UV cu diverse structuri ale globului ocular \u0219i anexelor sale. This presentation is intending to bring into focus the risks of acute and cumulative UVR interaction with different ocular structures more likely to be involved. Starting with eyelid malignancies (basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma), the presentation will continue with different associated conjunctival pathologies (pterygium, pinguecula and squamous cell carcinoma), corneal pathologies (photokeratitis and climatic droplet keratopathy), lens pathologies (opacities and cataract) and solar retinopathy. The controversial association between UVR and age related macular degeneration and uveal melanoma is also discussed.
The take home message is that UVR exposure requires an appropriate ocular protection as ocular UVR-induced pathologies are true and harmful.<\/p>\n

Tratamentul cu glicozaminoglicani (ex. Vessel Due F \u2013 sulodexid original, considerat un precursor natural de glicocalix, un glicozaminoglican compozit 80% heparan-sulfat \u0219i 20% dermatan-sulfat) poate reface \u0219i men\u021bine integritatea glicocalixului endotelial.
Diabetul zaharat este o patologie care poate duce frecvent la complica\u021bii microvasculare, precum picior diabetic, retinopatie diabetic\u0103 \u0219i nefropatie diabetic\u0103 (boala renal\u0103 cronic\u0103), ca urmare a stresului chimic \u0219i metabolic generat de valorile crescute ale glicemiei asociate cre\u0219terii rezisten\u021bei tisulare la insulin\u0103.
\u00cen cazul unui pacient cu retinopatie diabetic\u0103 m\u0103surile terapeutice trebuie s\u0103 vizeze \u00een primul r\u00e2nd eliminarea\/reducerea factorilor de risc, limitarea evolu\u021biei leziunilor vasculare, ameliorarea hemodinamicii \u0219i refacerea structurii peretelui vascular.
Tratamentul cu Vessel Due F a \u00eenregistrat o cre\u0219tere semnificativ\u0103 a grosimii stratului de glicocalix m\u0103surat la nivelul vaselor retiniene, sus\u021bin\u00e2nd \u00een acest fel caracterul vasculotrop marcant \u00een refacerea endoteliului \u0219i a glicocalixului vascular, cu ameliorarea consecutiv\u0103 a hemodinamicii \u0219i a func\u021biei endoteliale.<\/p>\n
The risk factors of venous disease together with the tensional stress, determine the morphological and functional alteration of the endothelial glycocalyx and of the endothelium, thus contributing to the development of venous disease.
Treatment with glycosaminoglycans (eg Vessel Due F, considered a natural precursor of glycocalyx, a composite glycosaminoglycan 80% heparan sulfate and 20% dermatan sulfate) can restore and maintain the integrity of the endothelial glycocalyx.
Diabetes is a condition that can frequently lead to microvascular complications, such as diabetic foot, diabetic retinopathy and diabetic nephropathy (chronic kidney disease), due to chemical and metabolic stress caused by high blood sugar levels associated with increased tissue resistance to insulin.
In the case of a patient with diabetic retinopathy, the therapeutic measures must primarily aim at eliminating \/ reducing the risk factors, limiting the evolution of the vascular lesions, improving the hemodynamics and restoring the structure of the vascular wall.
Vessel Due F treatment recorded a significant increase in the thickness of the glycocalyx layer measured in the retinal vessels, thus supporting the marked vasculotropic character in the restoration of the endothelium and vascular glycocalyx, with the consequent improvement of hemodynamics and endothelial function.<\/p>\n
