Scop: analiza influen\u021bei pandemiei asupra evolu\u021biei afec\u021biunilor venoase ale membrelor inferioare
Material \u0219i metod\u0103: VELTAS este o scal\u0103 de triaj dedicat\u0103 \u00eengrijirii pacien\u021bilor cu afec\u021biuni venoase acute sau cronice. Exper\u021bii UIP au dezvoltat un consens pentru a standardiza managementul acestor pacien\u021bi \u00een condi\u021biile actuale de pandemie. Triajul pacien\u021bilor se bazeaz\u0103 pe evaluarea clinic\u0103 a cazurilor. \u00cen concordan\u021b\u0103 cu VELTAS, condi\u021biile clinice se clasific\u0103 \u00een 6 categorii: thromboembolism venos, insuficien\u021b\u0103 venoas\u0103 cronic\u0103, anomalii vasculare, trauma venoas\u0103, compresie venoas\u0103, limfedem. Gradul urgen\u021bei este apreciat ca: foarte urgent, urgent, semi-urgent, non-urgent. \u00cen aceast\u0103 analiz\u0103 am inclus 480 de pacien\u021bi dispensariza\u021bi prin ambulatoriul Clinicii 1 Chirurgie a SCJUPB Timi\u0219oara. Prioritizarea pacien\u021bilor a fost efectuat\u0103 de c\u0103tre medicul curant, \u00een concordan\u021b\u0103 cu criteriile clinice, \u021bin\u00e2nd cont de siguran\u021ba pacien\u021bilor \u0219i posibilitatea evolu\u021biei rapide a bolii spre complica\u021bii invalidante.
Rezultate: Interven\u021bia chirurgical\u0103 a fost reprogramat\u0103 la 78% din pacien\u021bi pentru cel pu\u021bin 3 luni, pacien\u021bii r\u0103m\u00e2n\u00e2nd acas\u0103, cu tratament conservator. \u00cen primele 24 de luni de COVID-19 au fost reprogramate 229 de proceduri venoase \u0219i s-au efectuat 415 de consulta\u021bii on-line.
Concluzii
1.Afec\u021biunile venoase cronice au fost \u00een marea lor majoritate tratate conservator \u00een timpul pandemiei de COVID-19.
2.Scala VELTAS este un instrument util pentru \u00eencadrarea corect\u0103 a afec\u021biunilor, prioritizarea cazurilor \u0219i prevenirea complica\u021biilor generate de \u00eent\u00e2rzierea interven\u021biei curative \u00een afec\u021biunile venoase.<\/p>\n

Background: In accordance with current recommendations due to coronavirus disease our hospital has instituted drastic practice changes. These involved rescheduling of all elective procedures, including venous cases.
VELTAS is a triage and acuity scale dedicated to the care of patients with acute and chronic venous and lymphatic disorders. This Scale was developed to provide an international standard to help specialists in the management of this patients. Triage urgency was determined based on clinical assessment of urgency with which a patient would require medical treatment or surgical intervention.
Method: According to VELTAS, clinical conditions were classified into six categories: venous thromboembolism, chronic venous disease, vascular anomalies, venous trauma, venous compression, lymphatic disease. The degree of urgency is appreciated as: emergencies, urgent, semi-urgent, non-urgent.
Results: In this analysis, we included 480 patients.\u00a0 We delayed the intervention in 78% of patients for at least 3 month, with conservative treatment at home. During the first 24 month of the COVID-19 related practice changes, 229 vein procedures were rescheduled and 415 new consultations were performed using telehealth methods.
Conclusion:
1.Venous chronic diseases (CVD) were mostly conservatively treated during the pandemic period
2.Scala VELTAS is a useful tool for correct classification of the condition, prioritizing cases and prevention of complications caused by delayed curative intervention in venous diseases<\/p>\n
Scurt CV<\/span><\/p>\nI was born in Sibiu, Romania, in 09 May 1960, married, no children. I graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, Institute of Medicine Timisoara in 1986. After graduation and I was employed by County Hospital Sibiu as a junior doctor. In 1991 I started my specialization in General Surgery at the Surgical Clinic no.1, of the County Emergency Hospital Timis, belonging to the University of Medicine and Pharmacy Timisoara. Since 1994 I was employed as a surgeon and Assistant Lecturer, then Senior Lecturer and from 2017 Associate Professor of the above mentioned university. I was awarded a Master\u2019s Degree in 1998 and got the PhD title in 2002 from the University of Medicine \u201cIulius Hatieganu\u201d of Cluj Napoca.

After graduation and I was employed by County Hospital Sibiu as a junior doctor. In 1991 I started my specialization in General Surgery at the Surgical Clinic no.1, of the County Emergency Hospital Timis, belonging to the University of Medicine and Pharmacy Timisoara. Since 1994 I was employed as a surgeon and Assistant Lecturer, then Senior Lecturer and from 2017 Associate Professor of the above mentioned university. I was awarded a Master\u2019s Degree in 1998 and got the PhD title in 2002 from the University of Medicine \u201cIulius Hatieganu\u201d of Cluj Napoca.

Introducere: \u00cen concordan\u021b\u0103 cu recomand\u0103rile curente datorit\u0103 pandemiei cu SARS CoV 2 spitalul nostru a instituit m\u0103suri drastice cu modific\u0103ri \u00een practica medical\u0103 zilnic\u0103. Aceste m\u0103suri au inclus sistarea interven\u021biilor elective \u00een perioadele de maxim\u0103 inciden\u021b\u0103 a infec\u021biei inclusiv pentru afec\u021biunile venoase.
Scop: analiza influen\u021bei pandemiei asupra evolu\u021biei afec\u021biunilor venoase ale membrelor inferioare
Material \u0219i metod\u0103: VELTAS este o scal\u0103 de triaj dedicat\u0103 \u00eengrijirii pacien\u021bilor cu afec\u021biuni venoase acute sau cronice. Exper\u021bii UIP au dezvoltat un consens pentru a standardiza managementul acestor pacien\u021bi \u00een condi\u021biile actuale de pandemie. Triajul pacien\u021bilor se bazeaz\u0103 pe evaluarea clinic\u0103 a cazurilor. \u00cen concordan\u021b\u0103 cu VELTAS, condi\u021biile clinice se clasific\u0103 \u00een 6 categorii: thromboembolism venos, insuficien\u021b\u0103 venoas\u0103 cronic\u0103, anomalii vasculare, trauma venoas\u0103, compresie venoas\u0103, limfedem. Gradul urgen\u021bei este apreciat ca: foarte urgent, urgent, semi-urgent, non-urgent. \u00cen aceast\u0103 analiz\u0103 am inclus 480 de pacien\u021bi dispensariza\u021bi prin ambulatoriul Clinicii 1 Chirurgie a SCJUPB Timi\u0219oara. Prioritizarea pacien\u021bilor a fost efectuat\u0103 de c\u0103tre medicul curant, \u00een concordan\u021b\u0103 cu criteriile clinice, \u021bin\u00e2nd cont de siguran\u021ba pacien\u021bilor \u0219i posibilitatea evolu\u021biei rapide a bolii spre complica\u021bii invalidante.
Rezultate: Interven\u021bia chirurgical\u0103 a fost reprogramat\u0103 la 78% din pacien\u021bi pentru cel pu\u021bin 3 luni, pacien\u021bii r\u0103m\u00e2n\u00e2nd acas\u0103, cu tratament conservator. \u00cen primele 24 de luni de COVID-19 au fost reprogramate 229 de proceduri venoase \u0219i s-au efectuat 415 de consulta\u021bii on-line.
Concluzii
1.Afec\u021biunile venoase cronice au fost \u00een marea lor majoritate tratate conservator \u00een timpul pandemiei de COVID-19.
2.Scala VELTAS este un instrument util pentru \u00eencadrarea corect\u0103 a afec\u021biunilor, prioritizarea cazurilor \u0219i prevenirea complica\u021biilor generate de \u00eent\u00e2rzierea interven\u021biei curative \u00een afec\u021biunile venoase.<\/p>\n

Background: In accordance with current recommendations due to coronavirus disease our hospital has instituted drastic practice changes. These involved rescheduling of all elective procedures, including venous cases.
VELTAS is a triage and acuity scale dedicated to the care of patients with acute and chronic venous and lymphatic disorders. This Scale was developed to provide an international standard to help specialists in the management of this patients. Triage urgency was determined based on clinical assessment of urgency with which a patient would require medical treatment or surgical intervention.
Method: According to VELTAS, clinical conditions were classified into six categories: venous thromboembolism, chronic venous disease, vascular anomalies, venous trauma, venous compression, lymphatic disease. The degree of urgency is appreciated as: emergencies, urgent, semi-urgent, non-urgent.
Results: In this analysis, we included 480 patients.\u00a0 We delayed the intervention in 78% of patients for at least 3 month, with conservative treatment at home. During the first 24 month of the COVID-19 related practice changes, 229 vein procedures were rescheduled and 415 new consultations were performed using telehealth methods.
Conclusion:
1.Venous chronic diseases (CVD) were mostly conservatively treated during the pandemic period
2.Scala VELTAS is a useful tool for correct classification of the condition, prioritizing cases and prevention of complications caused by delayed curative intervention in venous diseases<\/p>\n
