Long COVID-19 sau sindromul post COVID-19 este o afecțiune debilitantă care implică numeroase provocări in ceea ce privește diagnosticul si tratamentul. Conform Organizației Mondiale a Sănătății sindromul post COVID-19 apare la persoanele cu antecedente de infecție cu SARS-CoV-2, de obicei la 3 luni de la debutul COVID-19, cu simptome care durează cel puțin 2 luni și care nu pot fi explicate printr-un diagnostic alternativ. Au fost identificate peste 200 de semne și simptome cu un important impact asupra mai multor organe. De la începutul pandemiei de COVID-19, numeroase studii au raportat că SARS-CoV-2 este asociat cu manifestări dermatologice. Mecanismele patogenice implicate în apariția manifestărilor cutanate asociate long COVID-19 nu sunt pe deplin elucidate. Se presupune că răspunsul inflamator prelungit poate împiedica remiterea leziunilor cutanate. Dar și stresul psihologic poate juca un rol. În registrul internațional al manifestărilor cutanate asociate COVID-19, au fost incluse eruptii morbiliforme, erupții urticariene, erupții papulo-scuamoase și leziuni de tip pernio. S-a observat că erupțiile urticariene și morbiliforme sunt de scurtă durată, în timp ce pernio și livedo reticularis au o o durată de peste 60 de zile. De asemenea, un procent de până la 25% dintre pacienții cu long COVID-19 raportează căderea părului. Este importantă cunoașterea manifestărilor cutanate asociate cu infecția cu SARS-CoV-2 pentru că acestea pot reprezenta un indiciu important pentru diagnosticul de long COVID-19.

Long COVID-19 or post COVID-19 syndrome is a debilitating condition that involves numerous challenges in terms of diagnosis and treatment. According to the World Health Organization, post COVID-19 syndrome occurs in individuals with a history of SARS-CoV-2 infection, usually 3 months after the onset of COVID-19, with symptoms lasting at least 2 months and they cannot be explained by an alternative diagnosis. Over 200 signs and symptoms with an important impact on multiple organs have been identified. Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, numerous studies have reported that SARS-CoV-2 is associated with dermatological manifestations. The pathogenic mechanisms involved in the appearance of cutaneous manifestations associated with long COVID-19 are not fully elucidated. It is assumed that prolonged inflammatory response may prevent remission of cutaneous lesions. However, psychological stress may also play a role. In the international registry of cutaneous manifestations associated with COVID-19, morbilliform eruptions, urticarial eruptions, papulo-squamous eruptions, and pernio-like lesions have been included. It has been found that urticarial and morbilliform rashes are short-lasting, whereas pernio and livedo reticularis last for more than 60 days. Additionally, up to 25% of patients with long COVID-19 report hair loss. It is important to know the cutaneous manifestations associated with SARS-CoV-2 infection because they can represent an important clue for the diagnosis of long COVID-19.
