Din 1851, c\u00e2nd Virchow semnala rolul eredit\u0103\u0163ii \u00een boala venoas\u0103 cronic\u0103 (BVC), modul \u00een care factorul genetic intervine \u00een insuficien\u021ba venoas\u0103 reprezenta un obiectiv important de studiu pentru lumea medical\u0103. Modul de transmitere a factorilor de risc genetic la descenden\u021bi a fost la \u00eenceput un subiect controversat, \u00een prezent consider\u00e2ndu-se c\u0103 transmiterea manifest\u0103rii venelor varicoase de la p\u0103rintele afectat la descenden\u021bi este \u00een cea mai mare parte de tip dominant cu penetrare variabil\u0103 (85%), av\u00e2nd o predominan\u021b\u0103 net\u0103 \u00een favoarea sexului feminin.
Dezvoltarea \u0219tiin\u021belor medicale a permis o analiz\u0103 mai profund\u0103 cu privire la rolul factorului genetic \u00een BVC, eviden\u021biind nu doar rolul metaloproteinazelor matriceale (MMP) \u00een fiziopatologia bolii, ci \u0219i importan\u021ba acestora ca factori de risc ai BVC. Cercet\u0103rile efectuate au ar\u0103tat c\u0103 anumite alele MMP sunt mai frecvente \u00een r\u00e2ndul pacien\u021bilor cu BVC \u0219i c\u0103 prezen\u021ba lor ar putea reprezenta un factor de prognostic nefavorabil. Studii recente au raportat c\u0103 pacien\u021bii cu sindrom Klippel-Trenaunay, sindrom Parke-Weber, cu muta\u021bie a genei FOXC2, cu dereglarea desmulinei \u0219i sindrom Ehlers-Danlos dezvolt\u0103 adesea vene varicoase \u0219i BVC. Din aceast\u0103 perspectiv\u0103, evaluarea corect\u0103 a eredit\u0103\u021bii devine o etap\u0103 obligatorie \u00een managementul pacientului cu BVC reprezent\u00e2nd \u0219i o metod\u0103 de identificare a persoanelor cu risc de a dezvolta aceast\u0103 afec\u021biune.<\/p>\n

Since 1851, when Virchow signaled the role of heredity in chronic venous disease (CVD), the way in which the genetic factor intervenes in venous insufficiency was an important objective of study for the medical world. The mode of transmission of genetic risk factors to the descendants was at first a controversial topic. Currently, it is considered that the transmission of the varicose veins\u2019 manifestation from the affected parent to the descendants is mostly of the dominant type with variable penetrance (85%), having a clear predominance in favor of the female sex.
The development of medical sciences has allowed a deeper analysis regarding the role of the genetic factor in CVD, highlighting not only the role of matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) in the pathophysiology of the disease, but also their importance as CVD risk factors. Research has shown that certain MMP alleles are more frequent among patients with CVD and that their presence could represent an unfavorable prognostic factor. Recent studies have reported that patients with Klippel-Trenaunay syndrome, Parke-Weber syndrome, FOXC2 gene mutation, desmulin dysregulation, and Ehlers-Danlos syndrome often develop varicose veins and CVD. From this perspective, the correct evaluation of heredity becomes a mandatory step in the management of the patient with CVD representing also a method of identifying people at risk of developing this condition.<\/p>\n
