Disruptorii endocrini (EDCs) sunt substan\u021be chimice exogene care se g\u0103sesc \u00een mediul \u00eenconjur\u0103tor \u0219i care interfereaz\u0103 cu activitatea hormonal\u0103. Ei pot mima efectele sau pot bloca\/stimula sinteza, secre\u021bia sau ac\u021biunile hormonilor. Dintre EDCs fac parte parabenii, bisfenolul A, ftala\u021bii, dioxina, care se pot g\u0103si \u00een: substan\u021be plastice, medicamente, apa subteran\u0103, produse agricole. Expunerea la EDCs se poate face prin consumul de alimente \u0219i ap\u0103, ingestia de lapte matern, inhalarea de gaze \u0219i particule din aer, transfer biologic prin placent\u0103. EDCs interfer\u0103 cu sistemul de semnalizare celular prin legarea la receptorii homonali iar efectele constau \u00een: tulbur\u0103ri ale sistemului reproductiv (infertilitate, pubertate precoce, tulbur\u0103ri de dezvoltare sexual\u0103), diabet, obezitate \u0219i manifest\u0103ri cutanate (mai ales acnee). Patogenia acneei este multifactorial\u0103 \u0219i include eliberarea de mediatori ai inflam\u021biei, keratinizare anormal\u0103, formarea de comedoane \u0219i alterarea produc\u021biei de sebum. Endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs) are exogenous chemicals found in the environment that interfere with hormone function. They can mimic or they can block\/ stimulate the synthesis, secretion, or action of hormones. EDCs like parabens, bisphenol A phthalates and dioxin are present in plasticizers, pharmaceuticals, groundwater, and agricultural products. There are diverse routes of EDCs exposure: consumption of food and water, ingestion of breast milk, inhalation of gases and particles in the air, skin contact, or biological transfer across the placenta. EDCs change cellular signals by binding to hormone receptors and the results involve: reproductive impairment (infertility, precocious puberty, disorders of sexual development), diabetes, obesity, and skin manifestations (acne mostly). The pathogenesis of acne is multifactorial and includes the release of inflammatory mediators, altered keratinization, comedone formation, altered sebum production. Acnee is common in endocrine diseases like: polycystic ovary syndrome, Cushing syndrome, in direct relationship with the androgen hypersecretion. Therefore EDCs with androgen-like effect may be involved in the pathogenesis of acne. Moreover the chloracne caused by systemic exposure to certain halogenated aromatic hydrocarbons \u2018chloracnegens\u2019 is considered to be one of the most sensitive indicators of pollution with this compounds. Popa\u201d University of Medicine and Pharmacy. Her research interest covers area as: PCOS, thyroid pathology, GH disorders. Author and co-author of 22 books and 60 articles in national and international peer-reviewed journals.
